Charlie Ryder was born and grew up in London.
Both his parents came from Ireland and his affinity with the country of his ancestors is very strong.
1993 following a demonstration against the British National Party, Charlie was sentenced to 16 months in prison, of which he served 8 for good behaviour.
He wrote and performed a one man play based on his prison experience that he has performed in prisons in Ireland and UK as well as at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
